Meem Yaser Studio is an independent creative house based in the UAE,
founded by the writer and illustrator Meem Yaser, creator of the Restless Worlds™ brand
and a specialist in visual storytelling and dark fantasy world-building.

Meem Yaser

Meem Yaser is a self-taught visual storyteller and writer.
She is the founder, producer, and creative director who oversees every stage of the work:
from writing the narratives and designing characters and worlds,
to developing the visual and symbolic language that defines her artistic style
and gives her works their unique identity.

Over the years, Meem has developed a wide range of works that blend literature, visual art, and cinematic composition,
presenting a complete narrative experience that led her to coin a new term:

“The Illustrated Novel” — Rūsūma™

A term that merges both concepts into a new artistic school of its own;
a genre that combines the depth and richness of Arabic prose, poetry,
and Middle Eastern literary tradition with the expressive visual language of manga and comics...
yet follows an entirely independent path, carrying its own identity and belonging to no existing mold.

Restless Worlds™

Her worlds draw their essence from dark fantasy, symbolism, and identity,
blending elements of mystery, adventure, action, drama, and brutality,
alongside poetic sensibility, humor, and romance...
to create a complete and harmonized artistic experience.

Through Restless Worlds™, the studio explores stories such as:
The Grand Lord, Moons Road, Symphony of Doom… and others,
set in worlds that tackle profound human themes,
presented with an elevated artistic vision free from imitation or spectacle.

What Is Rūsūma™?

Rūsūma™ is a term coined by Meem to describe an artistic genre with no Arabic equivalent
and no true counterpart in global terminology—created to fill a cultural and artistic gap in the Middle East
regarding the ninth art.

Names like manga and comics are foreign labels
that do not reflect the deep emotional and literary essence rooted in the Arabic language,
which Meem clearly employs in her illustrated narratives.

Rūsūma™ represents the first step in this field—
an artistic call that aims to pave the way and redefine the ninth art in the Arab world
as a refined, humanistic form worthy of respect and appreciation,
and a wide space for innovation and renewal.
